Mailroom and Fleet Assistant

Job Description

This position is responsible for the processing of incoming and outgoing mail and other packages.

Responsibilities

Mailroom Duties (75%) - Picks up, sorts, processes and routes incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and freight for campus delivery. Operates postage meter, including adding postage, processing large quantities of envelopes for departments, and coordinating repairs with vendor. Prepares outgoing UPS, FedX, or other freight for pickup. Responds to complaints and inquiries regarding lost mail; completes related forms; makes referrals for investigation. Locates proper addresses and makes corrections for misdirected mail. Vehicle Service (25%) - Cleans, fuels and prepares fleet vehicles or golf carts for use by faculty and staff. Assists Campus Facilities Manager with odometer, fuel card, and gathering information for reports to BOR. Operates fleet vehicles and golf carts on and off campus.

Required Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University. Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations Possession of valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
