TITLE: Receiving Associate

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Receiving Manager

Hours: 1:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for effectively and efficiently carrying out all the tasks and duties of a Receiving Associate as well as assisting the Receiving Leads/Supervisor/Manager with their responsibilities when they are out. More importantly they are responsible for effectiveness and efficiency of the warehouse operations; training new warehouse personnel in their daily functions and procedures; assist when and where necessary throughout the warehouse to ensure product gets to where necessary in an efficient and timely manner. The Receiving Associate may assist other receiving personnel in their daily activities and must perform all other duties as assigned on an as needed basis. The Receiving Associate reports to the Receiving Leads, Supervisor and/or Manager and checks in with the Receiving Leads/Supervisor/Manager at the beginning and end of every shift.

REGULAR ASSIGNED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations of the receiving.
• Report to a supervisor or Quality Assurance of any product quality issues.
• Ensures that all material handling equipment used is in good working order.
• Assist with receiving to ensure all products are received correctly and are stored quickly and correctly following food safety protocols.
• As directed - performs daily end of shift inspections for cleanliness and to ensure that product storage guidelines are being followed.
• As directed - assists with daily inventories as needed.
• As directed - assists as needed to ensure cleaning schedules are completed.
• Help locate product in inventory as needed.
• Fill in various warehouse positions when staffing is short.

OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Perform duties of the Lead during the Day when other managers are on vacation.
• Special projects as assigned.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• Three to Five years of progressively responsible, related experience in a position of comparable scope and size to the Company in the seafood industry.
• Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Able to transfer attention from one task to another frequently without affecting performance.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must have great attention to detail.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Able to speak Spanish a plus, but not required.

• The ability to be on your feet for hours at a time.
• The employee is capable of lifting and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• This position requires working in a cooler environment with temperatures maintained at 34-36 degrees Fahrenheit.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works mostly indoors in the warehouse environment and on occasion outside for brief periods of time. The employee can be exposed to wet and/or humid, hot, cold, and snow conditions, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate loud to loud.
