Role Purpose

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing inventory and materials in the Receiving of a solar manufacturing facility. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The individual will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials and supplies to support production operations while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with inventory control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, parts, and supplies and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Store materials in designated locations within the Receiving, ensuring proper organization, labeling, and inventory identification.
  • Liaise between the Receiving and warehouses to ensure inventory management is adhered.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Prepare materials and supplies for production orders based on production schedules and work orders.
  • Issue materials to production personnel in a timely manner and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Handle materials with care to prevent damage or loss and ensure compliance with handling and storage guidelines.
  • Fulfill internal material requisitions and work orders from production, maintenance, and other departments.
  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to replenish stock levels and expedite critical materials as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and generate reorder requests to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Enter data into inventory management systems and generate reports to track inventory levels, stock movements, and consumption patterns.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements, including material safety data sheets (MSDS) and traceability documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Receiving, including shelving, bins, and storage areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

Work Hours

  • Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm)
  • Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.  

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of work experience in Receiving operations, inventory control, or warehouse management

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in Receiving operations, inventory control, or warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing inventory transactions and recordkeeping tasks.

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer skills (e.g., SAP S4 Hana, data entry, Microsoft Excel).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment is desirable.

The range for this position is  $50,017.00 - $68,774.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
