Summary
Join our team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate Lead, where you'll help drive safe, accurate, and efficient product movement in a fast-paced environment. In this leadership role, you'll coordinate and support associates handling inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring products are staged, loaded, received, and transported correctly. You'll play a key part in maintaining quality, safety, and workflow while working with raw and/or cooked packaged products. This position has a base rate of $22.07 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
  • Unload and load trucks, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to accurately document and track inventory.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are securely packed and labeled correctly.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve any issues or discrepancies.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • At least 1 year of continuous work experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Previous experience in operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to pass forklift/pallet jack certification courses offered by Perdue.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
  • 2+ years' experience in a distribution warehouse.
  • Current forklift/pallet jacket certification

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
When in a plant environment:
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.
  • May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May handle products varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
