Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.
Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.


      1. Check patients in at time of appointment, this includes but is not limited to verifying insurance, collection of copays, updating demographics, downloading medication list from ePrescribe, MSSP forms completions, scanning insurance card and verifying insurance, completion of HIPAA forms and creating a fee ticket for the clinical staff .

      1. Check patients out – this includes but is not limited to making a return appointment, collecting account balance, copays, co-insurance, creating recall, schedule appropriate imaging, labs, radiology, pulmonary tests with the appropriate hospital location and coordinate with upcoming appointment with physicians, creating patient portal tokens and explaining patient portal instructions, and directing the patient to the correct location to schedule imaging or hospital procedures.

      1. Scheduling and entering imaging and lab orders into EHR.

      1. Cross cover in all areas of scheduling and at all locations.

      1. Weekly recall report – Call the patients, schedule appointments with physician or for imaging and lab and send reminder card per guidelines.

      1. Receive and complete scheduling tasks within the practice management system.
