Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Shipping and Receiving department, providing supervision, guidance and training to Shipping and Receiving Clerks to ensure quality service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Performs excellent guest service at all times.

Ensures the receipt and the delivery of goods in acceptable condition.

Leads and monitors work of Shipping and Receiving Clerks on assigned shift in both departments (back dock and warehouse).

Ensures the integrity of all supplies delivered to the receiving dock.

Verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Checks incoming merchandise against shipping manifests and purchase orders.

Receives all packages shipped via FedEx, UPS, DHL or other carriers.

Records amount of materials or items received using MMS.

Records amount of materials or items distributed using the database system.

Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.

Moves products to storage or delivers to designated areas in a timely manner.

Cooperates with Accounts Payable in the verification of orders received.

Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve Receiving disputes.

Directs clerks to prepare boxes for shipment and maintains records of all shipments sent out, assisting clerks when necessary.

Prepares boxes or packages for shipment via FedEx, or UPS.

Ensures proper maintenance of all Shipping & Receiving files and logs.

Performs routine clerical duties associated with the position.

Maintains all files in the Receiving Department.

Ensures a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

Facilitates the work by hands-on training of all Shipping & Receiving Clerks.

Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.

Performs any reasonable request made by management.

LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly leads in the activities of Receiving Team Members.

Responsibilities include training employees as well as helps lead in the assigning of work to warehouse and receiving Team Members, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required, with a minimum of two years warehousing experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a current and valid Driver's License and clean driving record. Must have experience in the operation of a forklift and an electric pallet jack. Must be able to successfully complete the Operator Safety Training Course for both. Food experience preferred. Must also be at least 21 years old to perform this position. Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence and routine reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear.
