Job description

Rebound is hiring two full-time Registration Representatives to join our team, with:

  • 1 position based in Vancouver, WA
  • 1 position based in Salmon Creek, WA
The Registration Representative is responsible for checking in patients, collecting copays, posting to patient accounts and communicating financial policies, informing patients of potential delays. You must have department awareness at all times to facilitate patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess great organizational skills and energy, a can-do attitude, a desire to learn the practice, and a collaborative team spirit. The candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, a superior commitment to patient care, and the ability to work closely with patients and physicians.
Responsibilities:
  • Support an environment that reinforces Rebound's mission and Core Values of Superior Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Innovation, Quality and Recognition.
  • Greet patients in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Be alert and helpful to ensure patients find the appropriate office, exit, etc. and offer directions when needed. Assist patients (ie-getting the door, wheelchairs, etc) as needed.
  • Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information and medical history to ensure accuracy. Confirm and pre-verify state and motor vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Explain credit policies, privacy practices and the differences with contracted vs. non-contracted insurance companies.
  • Responsible for collecting copays, past due balances, and necessary deposits at time of service.
  • Check out patients and provide them with their after visit summary and schedule follow up appointments if needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for clinical team's insurance related questions.
  • Train new and existing employees and address knowledge gaps with additional instruction in a supportive manner.
  • Alert supervisor and/or administration if suspicious persons are on the premise. Contact security as appropriate.
  • If any office location is underutilized or closed, staff from the closed office may be required to travel to another office to cover.
  • Cross train and assist other departments as necessary.
  • Complete all required annual training within given timeframes and attend required meetings.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years healthcare front office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurances, benefits and contracts. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
  • Ability to manage difficult and stressful situations.
  • Strong problematic resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of business office procedures.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to communicate patient information.
  • Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, employees and the general public.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work may require sitting for long periods of time
  • Stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies.
  • Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary.
  • Verbal communication with patients, making and canceling appointments and communicating with office staff.
  • It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods.
  • May be required to work under pressure.
  • Works in close proximity to office personnel within limited work space.
  • Interaction with others and phones can cause frequent disruptions.
  • Occasional exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
