What is a real estate agent?

Real estate agents are licensed professionals who help clients buy, sell, and rent properties. They act as intermediaries between buyers and sellers, providing guidance on pricing, negotiations, and legal requirements. Real estate agents also market properties, arrange showings, and assist with paperwork to ensure smooth transactions. Their expertise and local market knowledge can help clients make informed decisions throughout the real estate process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a real estate agent?

To thrive as a Real Estate Agent, you need a solid understanding of property markets, sales techniques, and local regulations, typically supported by a real estate license. Familiarity with MLS (Multiple Listing Service) platforms, CRM software, and digital marketing tools is essential. Exceptional interpersonal skills, negotiation ability, and resilience help agents build trust and close deals. These skills are critical to effectively connect clients with properties, navigate complex transactions, and achieve sales success in a competitive industry.

What are some typical challenges faced by real estate agents when building a client base?

New real estate agents often find that establishing a steady stream of clients is one of the biggest initial challenges. Success in this role frequently depends on proactive networking, consistent marketing efforts, and building a reputation for reliability and expertise in your local market. Agents typically spend time attending community events, leveraging social media, and following up with leads to create lasting relationships. Over time, referrals from satisfied clients and a growing network make it easier to maintain a robust client base, but persistence and adaptability are key in the early stages.

Job description

Position Overview:

Grand View Lodge is looking for a reliable, friendly, and safety-conscious Shuttle Driver to provide transportation services for our guests and associates across the resort. You'll be one of the first and last faces guests see during their stay and that matters. Whether you're picking someone up from the airport, shuttling a golf group to The Preserve, or helping a family get settled after a long drive, your professionalism and warmth set the tone for the Grand View Lodge experience.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys being on the move, takes pride in a well-maintained vehicle, and genuinely likes making people feel welcomed and taken care of.

About Grand View Lodge & Cote Hospitality

For over 100 years, Cote Hospitality has crafted transformative guest experiences across world-class resorts and camps. At Grand View Lodge, that means exceptional wellness woven into a full resort lifestyle, golf, dining, events, and more, all grounded in our CoteCares culture of belonging, respect, and shared purpose. We're invested in your growth here: this role comes with real opportunity to advance and expand your skills within our Safety & Security department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate shuttle vehicles safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws, resort policies, and established routes and schedules.
  • Transport guests and associates to and from designated locations: airports, golf courses, resort facilities, and other destinations as assigned.
  • Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and luggage; making every interaction warm, professional, and helpful.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and concerns with courtesy and a genuine desire to help; you represent Grand View Lodge every time you're behind the wheel.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Keep shuttle vehicles clean, presentable, and stocked with necessary supplies at all times, inside and out.
  • Maintain accurate daily records including mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts; submit required reports and documentation on time.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch or supervisory personnel about route changes, delays, or traffic conditions using provided communication devices.
  • Stay current on applicable transportation regulations and licensing requirements.
  • This is a resort hospitality role; availability on weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons is required.

What you bring:

  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record: required.
  • A genuine warmth and professionalism with guests; you understand that every ride is part of the guest experience.
  • Prior shuttle, transportation, or driver experience preferred; guest service experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to follow schedules reliably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with a physically active role; this position involves standing, walking, assisting with luggage, and occasionally lifting 50+ lbs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting, guest interaction, and dispatch coordination.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; one year of equivalent experience accepted in lieu.

Why join us:

You'll be part of a team that genuinely invests in its people. CoteCares isn't a tagline, it's how we show up for each other every day. You'll have the tools, support, and team culture to do your best work, with real opportunity to grow your career across the entire Cote Hospitality organization.
