What does a real estate transactional attorney do?

A Real Estate Transactional Attorney specializes in handling the legal aspects of buying, selling, and leasing real estate properties. They draft and review contracts, perform due diligence, negotiate terms, and ensure that transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Their goal is to protect their clients’ interests throughout the process and help facilitate a smooth closing. They typically do not handle litigation, focusing instead on the transactional, paperwork, and negotiation side of real estate law.

What are some common challenges a real estate transactional attorney faces when negotiating complex commercial deals?

Real Estate Transactional Attorneys often encounter challenges such as aligning the interests of multiple parties, navigating intricate zoning or regulatory requirements, and addressing unforeseen title or environmental issues.
