Job description

Real Estate Transactional Associate Attorney – Parsippany, NJ

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Transactional Associate Attorney to join a growing New Jersey-focused commercial real estate team in Parsippany, NJ.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 5+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience to handle complex acquisitions, dispositions, financings, equity investments, and leasing matters.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience
  • Substantial experience in structuring and closing complex commercial real estate deals, including mortgage and mezzanine financings, acquisitions, dispositions, equity investments, and leases
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental law and environmental due diligence for real estate transactions (preferred)
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and client-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team
  • NJ bar admission in good standing (required)

The firm offers a hybrid work environment allowing attorneys to work remotely two days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions
  • Conduct and review due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions
  • Draft, negotiate, and review purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, and equity investment agreements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex real estate and real estate finance matters
  • Support environmental due diligence and compliance when applicable
Qualifications
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial real estate experience
  • Strong drafting, problem-solving, and client service skills
  • Self-motivated, driven, and collaborative
  • NJ bar admission required
