Job description

Our Client, a well established downtown law firm is currently seeking senior level Real Estate Paralegals for multiple positions. They are offering competitive salaries, great benefits, a matching RRSP Plan and a fitness reimbursement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare residential and commercial real estate files from opening to closing
  • Process purchase transactions, prepare mortgages, refinancing and supplemental documents, prepare interim/final reports to parties
  • Prepare statement of adjustments, report to mortgagee and purchaser in a timely manner
  • Prepare sale transactions, trust letters, deposit funds to meet closing date
  • Maintain client files and diarize critical deadlines, prepare client accounts and correspondence
  • Utilize conveyancing software to process correspondence related to real estate files
  • Liaise with realtors, financial institutions, clients and other law firms regarding all aspects of real estate transactions
  • Build and maintain positive relations with clients, bankers, realtors and other parties integral to the completion of the transactions

Key Competencies:

  • Possesses a high degree of initiative and self-motivation with the commitment of being a team player that can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive work ethic and attitude and the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced computer skills (ie. Microsoft Office, Outlook and document management systems)
  • Maintains professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently
  • The successful candidate will work closely with several lawyers in a collaborative, team-based environment, supporting a variety of real estate files.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate from an accredited paralegal/legal assistant program (successful career history will be considered)
  • Experience in residential real estate is preferred
