EisnerAmper is seeking a Tax Director to join our Real Estate Tax practice with a primary focus on privately held real estate owners, developers, operators, family offices, and closely held real estate businesses. This role is designed for a trusted advisor who enjoys partnering directly with entrepreneurs and ownership groups on tax planning, structuring, transactions, and long-term business strategy. Experience serving owner-operated real estate companies is strongly preferred over backgrounds primarily focused on public REITs, institutional real estate private equity funds, or investment management structures.

WhatWork You Willbe Responsible For:
  • Serve as a trusted tax advisor to privately held real estate owners, developers, operators, family offices, and closely held real estate businesses.

  • Lead complex tax engagements involving partnership taxation, entity structuring, acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing transactions, and tax planning strategies.

  • Partner directly with business owners and executive leadership teams to identify tax savings opportunities and provide strategic guidance.

  • Review and oversee tax compliance and consulting engagements to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery.

  • Mentor, develop, and manage tax professionals within the Real Estate Tax practice.

  • Collaborate with Partners on business development initiatives, proposal presentations, and expansion of existing client relationships.

  • Build and maintain relationships with attorneys, lenders, wealth advisors, and other professionals serving the closely held real estate market.

  • Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory and tax planning services to existing clients.

  • Serve as a technical resource for engagement teams on partnership taxation and real estate-related tax matters.

  • Stay current on developments impacting real estate owners, operators, developers, and family-owned real estate businesses.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor'sDegree inAccountingor equivalent field isrequired

  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience providing tax compliance and consulting services

  • 8+ years of tax compliance, specialization in complex technical individual and business returns

  • Recent Public Accounting experience

  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certificationrequired

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree inTaxationor relevant field
