H&W CPAs is an upbeat, flexible, and accommodating firm who seeks to be our clients' most trusted financial partner through providing top tier service in tax preparation, accounting, and consulting. We are seeking an experienced real estate tax professional with 3-5 years' experience to join our growing organization. Are you an organized, energized tax professional with a few years of real estate tax experience under your belt, looking for a firm that will actually use it without demanding your life during busy season? If youโ€™re answering yes, you may be a perfect fit for the Real Estate Tax Associate role and the H&W Team!

Who You Are:
  • You have 3-5 years of tax experience with meaningful exposure to real estate clients
  • Youโ€™re comfortable with partnership and S-corp taxation (Forms 1065/1120-S), including basis tracking and partner allocations
  • You have working knowledge of real estate, specifically 1031 exchanges, cost segregation studies, passive activity loss rules, depreciation methods, etc.
  • You thrive in a low-ego, highly collaborative work environment
  • You have a positive attitude, a growth-mindset, and enjoy connecting and problem-solving with clients
  • Experience with Ultra Tax and Tax Dome software are a bonus
What Youโ€™ll Do & Learn:
  • Assist with the tax preparation and review for a portfolio of real estate clients, with direct client interaction
  • Manage your own portfolio and move beyond compliance into tax planning and projections helping clients structure deals, time transactions, and plan for growth
  • Work closely with the bookkeeping team to ensure accurate monthly books for real estate clients
  • Collaborate directly with our partners allowing opportunity for growth and mentorship
  • Provide guidance to seasonal and junior staff
  • Work closely with your peers in a small firm to improve processes and help to shape the future of our growing firm.
