Job description

If you possess dynamic leadership capabilities and outstanding analytical, research and interpersonal skills, consider a career opportunity with Friedman Real Estate as a Real Estate Analyst.

The Real Estate Analyst position will be responsible for preparing broker opinions of value (BOVs) for multifamily, retail, office, and industrial real estate, analyzing/underwriting commercial/multifamily values, researching ownership information, and preparing intel lists for properties across the country. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working on multiple projects at a given time. Strong computer skills, communication and writing skills are a must, and prior real estate experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret property level financial information including historical operating statements, operating budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports. 
  • Prepare opinions of value utilizing Argus and Excel to underwrite and value both commercial and multifamily assets. 
  • Assemble and evaluate property level documents including floor plans, leases, property condition reports, environmental reports, title reports, surveys, and leases.
  • Research property ownership and mortgage information utilizing online databases and local government sources.
  • Gather research regarding leasing and sale fundamentals for office, industrial, retail, and multifamily assets located in multiple submarkets across the country.
  • Learn and understand multiple commercial real estate software programs.
  • Perform other related tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have at least a general familiarity with all commercial property types and have a broad understanding of commercial real estate concepts.
  • At least one (1) year in an analytical role within the real estate, private equity, investment banking, consulting, accounting or related industry is preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, real estate, economics or other related business discipline is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to conduct research on multiple websites and other commercial real estate software systems after training.
  • Excel experience is required, and some Argus knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills are also a must.
  • Sound judgement, initiative, resourcefulness, tenacity and the flexibility to operate independently in a fast-paced environment are also required.
