Job description

We are looking for an accomplished real estate attorney to join a legal team, advising borrowers on high-value commercial property transactions. This opportunity suits a senior associate or emerging partner who can guide matters from early structuring through closing while balancing legal risk with business priorities. The role offers meaningful client contact and the chance to lead sophisticated deals involving acquisitions, dispositions, and complex financing arrangements.
Responsibilities:
• Advise borrower clients on commercial real estate matters involving acquisitions, sales, and related strategic transactions.
• Prepare, analyze, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements along with supporting deal documentation required to move transactions forward.
• Handle financing components of transactions by reviewing and negotiating loan agreements, credit facilities, and ancillary lending documents.
• Evaluate lengthy and highly detailed legal agreements independently, identify key risks, and recommend practical revisions.
• Oversee deals from kickoff through closing, coordinating timelines, documentation, and communication among lenders, counterparties, and counsel.
• Deliver commercially focused legal guidance that helps clients make informed decisions throughout each stage of a transaction.
• Manage a substantial workflow of sophisticated matters while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and strong client service.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently and keep transactions on track.

• At least 7 years of experience practicing commercial real estate law.

• Strong background representing borrowers in complex real estate transactions.

• Proven ability to negotiate purchase agreements and sophisticated loan documentation with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated skill in drafting, revising, and analyzing detailed transactional documents.

• Ability to run multiple active matters independently and bring transactions to a successful close.

• Admission to practice law in good standing; Maryland bar membership is preferred but not required.

• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills in client-facing legal work.
