Job description

Job Title: Real Estate & Estate Planning

Butler & College, LLC is a leading law firm serving the Lowcountry and surrounding areas, with a focus on real estate law and estate planning. We take pride in providing exceptional client service and building lasting relationships with the individuals, families, and professionals we serve.

As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and client-focused attorney to join our Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina office.

Position Overview

We are looking for an attorney to manage residential and commercial real estate closings while providing legal support to our real estate and estate planning clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with real estate transactions, an interest in estate planning, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of real estate closings, including contract review, title and due diligence matters, preparation of closing documents, and funding.
  • Provide knowledgeable and practical legal advice to clients throughout the transaction process.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, real estate agents, lenders, title professionals, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise before or during the closing process.
  • Stay current on applicable North Carolina real estate laws, regulations, and industry developments.
  • Provide support on estate planning matters as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client files while meeting deadlines and managing multiple matters efficiently.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure a seamless and positive client experience.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Experience in real estate transactions and/or estate planning preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to client matters.
