What is a real estate hourly?

A Real Estate Hourly job typically involves working in the real estate industry on an hourly basis rather than a salaried or commission-based structure. These roles can include administrative support, property management assistance, marketing coordination, or assisting real estate agents with tasks such as scheduling, paperwork, or client communication. Pay is typically based on an hourly rate, and the position may be part-time or full-time, depending on the employer's needs.

What are the typical responsibilities of a real estate hourly?

Real Estate Hourly employees often assist with scheduling showings, preparing property paperwork, and maintaining client databases. They may perform administrative tasks such as responding to client inquiries, coordinating open houses, and supporting real estate agents with marketing materials. Collaboration with agents, office staff, and clients is common, so good communication is important. This role provides valuable exposure to the real estate industry and can serve as a stepping stone to more advanced positions within a real estate office.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the real estate hourly position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Real Estate Hourly employee, a foundational understanding of real estate transactions, property management, and administrative support is essential, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant coursework. Familiarity with property listing services (MLS), basic real estate software, and office productivity tools is valuable in this role. Strong interpersonal skills, organization, and attention to detail help individuals excel when working with clients and supporting agents. These competencies ensure efficient operations, positive client experiences, and effective teamwork within a fast-paced real estate environment.

Job description

A growing start-up residential real estate firm is seeking part-time and full-time Real Estate Associates. Associates will assist with contracts, searches, showings, open houses, client updates, inspections, and settlements for multiple real estate transactions each month. Associates will also contribute to the firm's marketing efforts, creating and deploying direct mail and digital marketing materials. On a daily basis, Associates will interact with our experienced Principal Broker and with the firm's clients. Work is from home and on-location with clients. Hours are somewhat flexible but approximately 35% of work will occur on evenings and weekends.

Pay is hourly with bonuses for new client procurement. Real estate experience and/or licensing are appreciated but not required. As needed, our firm will provide training and real estate licensing. Reimbursement for mileage, licensing, Realtor association dues, MLS, and lockbox expenses will all be provided.

Unlike typical real estate agents, our Associates will not be required to generate their own business. Our firm has a strong book of business with clients ready to buy or sell. Associates will enjoy steady hourly pay without the unpredictability of commission-based income.

For Associates, a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills are crucial. They must also have a clean driving record, and access to a clean, presentable car. They must also possess a desktop or laptop computer with Internet access. A college degree is appreciated, but not required.

Over time, successful Associates will have opportunities to advance, taking on higher-profile transactional roles, leading teams, and receiving increased variable compensation.
