Job description

The commercial real estate paralegal is responsible for providing paralegal support and assistance to the real estate attorneys in the coordination, management and supervision of all aspects of real estate transactions. This position requires contact and communication with both clients and title companies, while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality in all matters.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review/summary of contracts, critical dates and due diligence materials.
  • Review/analysis/summary of title commitments, underlying title documents and surveys.
  • Review/summary of leases and other real estate documents.
  • Prepare/coordinate and assist with documentation for acquisitions, dispositions and loan closings and post-closing requirements.
  • Prepare financing statements, releases and transfer documents.
  • Electronically record documents in public records and maintain electronic matter files.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree and four or more years progressive work experience in the real estate transactional area preferably in a law firm environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited paralegal program a plus.
  • Computer proficient with experience and working knowledge of real estate-related databases, internet research, Microsoft Office, iManage and ProLaw experience helpful but not required.
  • Exhibit high degree of initiative with excellent analytical, technical, and critical-thinking skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic in order to analyze and research real estate transactional data, process information, conduct legal research, and perform essential duties.
  • Dependable team player with the ability to act independently and make decisions within scope of the positionโ€™s responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment, and adapt to changes in workflow.
