Job description

As a Senior Manager, Financing Solutions in the Real Estate Financing team, you will act as a subject matter expert in structuring complex commercial real estate transactions. You will contribute to the growth of the portfolio while ensuring sound risk management practices and delivering high-value financial solutions to clients.

Your role

  • Structure complex real estate financing transactions, including construction loans, term financing and multi-entity borrower structures
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and credit underwriting to support decision-making
  • Prepare detailed credit applications and recommendations for approval authorities
  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of commercial real estate clients, including annual reviews and covenant tracking
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to transactions and market conditions
  • Partner with Account Managers to support deal origination, structuring and execution
  • Participate in negotiations with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors (legal, appraisal, environmental) to ensure efficient execution of transactions
  • Act as an expert in real estate financing and provide advisory support to internal partners

Your team

Within the Commercial & Private Banking 1859 sector, you are part of the Real Estate Financing group, which supports key players in the real estate industry through construction and long-term financing solutions. The team is recognized for its expertise, collaboration and ability to deliver tailored financial solutions.

In this role, you report to the Senior Director, Real Estate Financing, and are responsible for supporting and covering the Calgary market, working closely with regional partners and clients.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in commercial banking or real estate financing
  • Strong experience in structuring complex real estate transactions
  • Solid expertise in credit underwriting, financial analysis and risk management
  • Strong knowledge of real estate financing products and market dynamics
  • Ability to work autonomously on complex files and influence decision-making
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
