Description:

Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC (RMWBH) is seeking a licensed Texas attorney to join our established and growing Real Estate Section in our Houston office. This role is designed for an attorney with 3โ€“5 years of substantive experience in real estate law, specifically focused on real estate development and master planned communities.

This position is exclusively for attorneys. Candidates without an active Texas law license will not be considered.


Position Overview

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing sophisticated real estate development matters and will be comfortable operating with a high level of independence. This role requires strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to advise clients throughout the lifecycle of development projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate plats, development agreements, and related entitlement documents
  • Prepare and amend restrictive covenants for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
  • Draft and revise governing documents for master planned communities, including declarations, bylaws, rules, regulations, and policies
  • Form and advise nonprofit and property ownersโ€™ associations, including preparation of certificates of formation and corporate governance documents
  • Provide legal guidance to developers throughout all phases of development projects
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas (required)
  • 3โ€“5 years of substantive, hands-on experience practicing real estate law
  • Direct experience with real estate development and master planned communities
  • Demonstrated ability to draft complex legal documents with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment
  • Experience representing developers or working on large-scale development projects
