Vestas- Steelhead isย seekingย a detailoriented and proactive Real Estate & Development Paralegal to support the development of utilityscale renewable energy projects across the U.S. In this role, you will provide essential transactional, title, and project development support from earlystage development through preconstruction divestment. Real Estate Paralegal

ย 

Responsibilities:

ย 

Site Control & Transactional Supportย 

  • Analyzeย deeds,ย tax cards,ย and related documents toย determineย ownership,ย propertyย descriptions, and signatory authorityย inย supportย ofย land acquisition.ย 
  • Assistย in drafting, revising, and organizing real estate documents, includingย wind leases.ย 
  • Assistย withย amending real estate documents in negotiations to includeย non-standard provisions.ย 

ย 

Real Estate & Titleย 

  • Review, analyze, and summarize title commitmentsย and recorded instruments to prepare title insurance policies for renewable energy project sales.ย 
  • Coordinate title curative work, includingย draftingย corrective instrumentsย and aligning stakeholders.ย 

ย 

Document Management & Organizationย 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build processes and implement them.ย 
  • Maintain organized repositories of agreements, title documents,ย LLC governance materials, litigation filings,ย and project correspondence.ย 
  • Implement documentย control best practices to support large-scale portfoliosย and negotiations.ย 

ย 

Project Development Supportย 

  • Support diligence for project acquisitions, divestitures, and financings, includingย assisting in organizingย virtual data rooms,ย coordinating thirdย party deliverables, andย maintainingย real estate exhibits, diligence logs, contract schedules, and closing checklists.ย 
  • Assistย with local permitting filings, utility and interconnection deliverables, and survey requests.ย 
  • Collaborate crossย functionally with development, permitting, engineering,ย procurement, interconnection,ย finance,ย business development,ย and external stakeholders.ย 

ย 

Corporate Legal Supportย 

  • Support with a wide range of governanceย and complianceย tasks, includingย assistingย withย the maintenance ofย corporate governance documents.ย 
  • Draft and organize NDAs, vendor agreements, service contracts, and corporate forms.ย 
  • Support counsel with entity formations, foreign qualifications, and renewals.ย 
  • Supportย counsel inย corporate transactions, joint ventures, and M&A activities.ย 

Qualifications:

Requiredย 

  • 5-7 years of experience as a real estate paralegal, in commercial transactions or development-heavy industries.ย 
  • Paralegalย certificate, such as those recognized by the NFPA, NALA, ABA, or colleges.ย ย 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing titles and surveys, analyzing land records, and conducting comprehensive propertyrelated due diligence
  • Experience drafting and redlining real estate documents.ย 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and solid project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders with minimal supervision.ย 
  • Proficiencyย with documentย management systems.ย 

ย 

Preferredย 

  • Experience with renewable energy, infrastructure, or utilityย scale real estate development.ย 
  • Bachelor's degreeย 
  • Demonstrated flexibility and interest inย assistingย with legal work outside of real estate, in alignment with the broader needs of the team.ย 
  • Knowledge of multistate real estate practices and recording requirements.ย 
  • Experience supporting project finance or M&A transactions.ย 
  • Notary commission (or ability to obtain).ย

Competencies:

  • Proficiencyย with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applicationsย 
  • Capable of both collaborative teamwork and solo task management, organized with a strong focus on details, and inclined to take initiative
  • Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
