Kforce has a client in Alexandria, VA that is seeking a Real Estate Accountant. Position Summary: We are seeking a detail oriented Real Estate Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions for a portfolio of commercial, residential, mixed use, or affordable housing properties. The Real Estate Accountant will be responsible for property level accounting, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, budgeting support, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and lender requirements. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the general ledger for assigned properties and real estate entities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform month end and year end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Record and reconcile rental income, CAM reconciliations, operating expenses, and tenant receivables Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity for multiple entities and properties Track capital expenditures, construction costs, and fixed assets Account for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Prepare workpapers and support schedules for annual audits and tax filings Reconcile intercompany accounts and property management reports Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Coordinate with property managers, asset managers, lenders, and external auditors Support investor, lender, and ownership reporting requirements Requirements: 3+ years of property accounting experience Large ERP systems experience Excel experience - Vlookups, Pivot Tables and Formulas The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
