Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior Paralegal or alternatively, an Associate Attorney, to join our team.

This position is primarily focused on Illinois  commercial and residential real estate as well as estate planning.The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing files independently, and able to take an IL real estate transaction from intake through closing.

Remote work is negotiable based on experience, performance, and case management ability, however we do see value of in office staff.

Key Responsibilities (Senior Paralegal or Associate Attorney):

  • Residential Real Estate Transactions: Handle end-to-end closings including contract review, title coordination, settlement statements, lender communication, and client updates.

  • Estate Planning: Draft and organize estate plans including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and incapacity planning documents.

  • Document Drafting & Legal Correspondence: Prepare deeds, bills of sale, affidavits of title, closing packages, trust certifications, and client letters.

  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, realtors, lenders, and title companies.

  • Legal Technology: Use Smokeball case management software to manage matters, generate forms, and track deadlines efficiently. Prior experience with Smokeball is strongly preferred. A strong knowledge of AI is strong qaulification. 

  • Optional – Business Formation: Assist with forming LLCs, drafting operating agreements, filing EINs, and preparing real estate holding structures.

Candidate Qualifications – Senior Paralegal (Preferred Role)

  • Minimum 5+ years of substantive experience in Illinois  real estate and estate planning

  • Familiarity with title review, closing coordination, and post-closing requirements

  • Strong document drafting skills and ability to manage matters with minimal supervision

  • Prior use of Smokeball or similar legal practice management systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Alternative Role – Associate Attorney (If Applicable)

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Illinois law license (or ability to obtain promptly)

  • 1+ years of experience in residential or commercial real estate law, estate planning, or probate

  • Comfort managing client relationships, negotiating terms, and reviewing legal documents

  • Strong legal writing and contract drafting skills

  • Experience with Smokeball is a major plus
