Job description

A growing commercial real estate investment and management firm is seeking a Real Estate Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial properties while learning from an experienced team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, tenant receivables, and operating expenses.
  • Process accounts payable and assist with cash management activities.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and CAM reconciliations.
  • Work closely with Property Managers to resolve accounting inquiries and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain accounting records and assist with audits and other special projects.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (commercial real estate or property accounting experience is required).
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Yardi is required
