What is a ready mix?

Ready Mix jobs typically refer to positions within the ready-mix concrete industry, where employees are responsible for producing, delivering, and sometimes pouring concrete that is pre-mixed at a batching plant. Common roles include ready mix truck drivers, plant operators, dispatchers, and quality control technicians. These jobs often require knowledge of concrete batching processes, safe driving practices, and sometimes a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Ready Mix professionals play a crucial role in supplying construction sites with the precise mixes needed for building foundations, roads, and other structures.

Familiarity with GPS navigation, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and basic truck maintenance tools is important for daily operations. Strong communication, punctuality, and attention to safety protocols are crucial soft skills for interacting with customers and team members. These competencies ensure timely and safe concrete delivery, customer satisfaction, and compliance with industry regulations.
