Job description

QE Concrete is looking for a Ready-Mix Driver to join our team. The Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for operating a ready-mix concrete truck used for delivering, mixing, and pouring concrete on-demand at job sites. This role involves safely transporting concrete and ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Essential Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Operate a ready mix truck for delivery of concrete according mix designs and customer needs.

Perform daily preventative basic maintenance as well as a thorough weekly deep clean of the truck (body and cabin).

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any necessary maintenance issues promptly.

Complete all required paperwork accurately, including DVIR in paper if needed, and daily productivity reports.

Complete tickets in the dispatch app adding accurate loading times, travel time, unloading times, cubic yards pours, pictures, and customer signature per application requirements.

Maintain effective communication with dispatch, other drivers, loader operators, and customers using various means, including company-provided communication tools.

Report any issues or incidents in a timely manner to dispatch including traffic delays, pump or truck malfunctions, issued with raw materials, etc.

Assist with plant maintenance and cleanup when not performing driving duties.

Strictly adhere to all OSHA and Company safety policies.

Other responsibilities may be assigned on an as-needed basis by management including the operation of a volumetric concrete truck with appropriate training.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with excellent driving record.

Ability to pass DOT medical examination.

Concrete truck operator experience preferred.

Knowledge of the concrete industry or related fields beneficial.

Knowledge of FDOT regulations, vehicle safety, and maintenance protocols.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Proficiency in using a smartphone and tablet (iPad) for work-related tasks (e.g., group chats, calls, texts, photos)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to climb onto equipment, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Constant visits to job sites will occur, requiring personal protective equipment.

Work is primarily performed outdoors in variable weather and lighting conditions, including extreme heat and humidity.

Work is performed on uneven and slippery terrain.

The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.

Exposure to diesel exhaust, dust, water mist, and concrete silicate.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.

This position requires local travel to job sites and plants and yards.
