Ready Mix Operator / CDL Driver

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Brookville, OH for a Ready Mix Operator / CDL Driver. The Ready Mix Operator / CDL Driver will be responsible for operating and driving a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to customer sites. The driver will also be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of the concrete and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the truck.

Responsibilities
  • Daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Safe delivery of ready-mix concrete from plant to job site in our modern fleet of Concrete Mixers
  • Employee is required to go up access ladder to wash hopper and fins after loading and unloading
  • Employee is required to be able to put on concrete chutes for unloading the concrete (approximately 40-50 lbs) 4 per truck
  • Truck cleanliness is the responsibility of the driver and is a daily requirement
  • Non-delivery tasks when time is available will include general cleaning, basic truck maintenance, use of small power tools, manual labor, and other essential tasks
  • Occasionally operate other pieces of heavy equipment as needed
  • Establish and maintain a professional and friendly relationship with customers, clients, management, and co-workers
  • Comply with all CDL Truck Drivers' safety requirements and policies, as well as report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately
Qualifications
  • Self-motivated, excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, being reliable and punctual
  • Ability to work rotating Saturday shifts
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Proficient trade skills including basic electrical knowledge, welding, torching, and steel fabrication
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, including haul trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, and excavators
  • Experience operating and driving a truck with a concrete mixer
  • Knowledge of the principles and procedures for mixing ready-mix concrete
  • Ability to read and understand delivery tickets and follow instructions
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections on the truck
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to use GPS

  • Valid State-Issued Driver's License, Class A or B Preferred, CDL Training Available
  • Must be able to meet the Company's insurance carriers' requirements to be insurable, clean driving record
