Job description

Employment Type: Hourly 
Work Designation: Onsite
Shift: Second 

Position Summary:

Responsible for efficiently mixing finished products and maintaining the highest possible quality standards. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare product according to established formulas, while monitoring the needs of production to keep filing areas supplied with finished product.
  • Perform deck set-up for daily schedule, operate equipment to aid in processing formulas; keep processing equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Use Local Control Panel (LCP) to control the additions of all metered and manually added/weighed ingredients to mix and transfer completed batches to production lines or portable equipment.
  • Supply a product sample, as required, to Quality control (QC) for testing and approval for packing.
  • Make and document all necessary adjustments, while keeping record of batches made, ingredients used including lot numbers.
  • Clear out product lines of with water at the end of daily product run. Remove empty containers, garbage and follow good houskeeping standards.
  • Other non-routine duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
  • HS Diploma or GED or related experience in food processing.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the "English Language" in order to accurately select materials per Batch Sheets. 
  • Read,  interpret, and execute documents such as safety rules, and standard operating procedures (SOP's).          
  • Possess reading and math skills needed to accurately verify quantities of ingredients and to accurate add ingrediants to batch.
  • Requires a good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure food safety
  • Responsible for operating forklift, scales, and Local Control Panel (LCP).

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day.   Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required.  Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements.  In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:


Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.
