Reading Intervention Teacher Northside Intermediate
Primary Purpose:
Provide targeted reading instruction and intervention to students who are struggling academically in reading and literacy skills. The Reading Intervention Teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, intervention teams, and campus administration to support student growth and improve academic outcomes through data-driven instruction and evidence-based interventions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate appropriate for assignment
- ESL certification preferred
- Experience in elementary reading instruction and intervention preferred
- Strong knowledge of literacy development, reading strategies, and intervention programs
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide small-group and/or individualized reading intervention aligned to student needs
- Utilize assessment data to identify skill deficits and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, interventionists, and administrators to support student achievement
- Assist in developing intervention plans and progress monitoring systems for struggling readers
- Implement research-based instructional strategies and interventions
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention documentation
- Participate in PLCs, RTI/MTSS meetings, and campus professional development
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Support campus academic goals and initiatives related to reading achievement and student growth
- Maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment

- Knowledge of reading development and intervention strategies
- Ability to analyze academic data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Ability to motivate struggling learners and foster academic confidence
