Job description

Qualifications:
Able to read, write and speak English. Physically able to perform all job requirements.
This Job Description with basic functions, duties and responsibilities is intended as a guideline for the employee. The list of duties and responsibilities is not inclusive as your supervisor may add other assignments.
Professional Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a state approved Nurses Assistant course and certified by the State
  2. Professional behavior and attitude
    • No loud talking or yelling down hallways
  3. Professional language
  4. Professional attire and appearance
    • No fake or long nails

General Responsibilities:
  1. Report on duty at your scheduled time for report and rounds
  2. Report any problems, accidents or hazards to your supervisor
  3. Promote safety to residents, self and facility at all times
  4. Protect resident's rights, safety and care
  5. Medication Pass (If applicable)
  6. Vital signs
  7. Assist residents with dressing, bathing, ADL's, treatments and transporting to and from the dining room
  8. Deliver and pick-up room trays and document on 24 hour report
  9. Monitoring resident's status and behavior
  10. Report any changes in resident's condition to supervisor
  11. Do not read, sleep, eat or drink at the desk or at any of the carts
  12. Honesty demands that time paid for by the facility should be used. If the work assigned to you is not sufficient to occupy your time, see your supervisor
  13. Report all breakage and all repair
  14. When entering a room take note of all hazards. Knock and wait a few moments for an answer
  15. When walking the halls, look in every room for possible harm to residents.
    3 In an emergency do not panic! Stay calm and be able to assist the residents effectively
  16. All phone calls from doctors should be referred to the Director of Health Care Services or the medical records clerk. If neither of these people are available, explain to the physician that you are non-licensed personnel and to please fax the order, or you will have to have your supervisor call them back
  17. Report anything unusual to your supervisor
  18. Remember some residents and family members may use abusive language and say things that are unwarranted. But remember, the Resident Aides must maintain respect. Speak to your supervisor and they will handle these difficult situations
  19. Be aware of inventory levels. If we are running low on supplies let your supervisor know. Practice economy. Don't be wasteful of supplies
