Job description

The Teacher for the Visually Impaired provides students with appropriate learning experiences and activities designed to help them in social, intellectual, and emotional growth.  The Teacher for the Visually Impaired organizes and implements an instructional program for visually impaired students.

Enables students to develop competencies and skills to function in a successful and positive manner.

Now Hiring: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a school district-wide opportunity in Tempe, Arizona for the 2026-2027 school year. This position offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with visual impairments.

Position Highlights

? Start Date: September 14, 2026 or ASAP
? Schedule: Full-Time (Monday-Friday) or Part-Time (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning)
? Hours: 20-40 hours per week
? School Year Contract: 36 Weeks
? District-Wide Caseload
? Interview Required with SPED Director and Visually Impaired Department Head

Compensation

?? Local Pay: Up to $58/hour
?? Travel Opportunities Available

  • Weekly Tax-Free Housing: $1,000
  • Weekly Meals & Incidentals: $602
  • Estimated Weekly Travel Package: $2,282
Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs).
  • Support students' academic, social, emotional, and functional skill development.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
  • Utilize appropriate instructional strategies and assistive technologies.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Valid Arizona Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification
  • One year of TVI experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification if applicable
  • Current health clearance and TB documentation if required
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
