Software Engineer 3 - Python / React / Cloud Automation

Location: Irving, TX - Las Colinas
Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
Contract: 6 months
Employment Type: W2

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join an infrastructure development organization focused on building automation solutions that enable a software-driven infrastructure environment.

In this role, you will develop automation solutions for infrastructure services and application migration initiatives, with a strong focus on Python development, React, API development, and cloud-native technologies. You will help build scalable, self-service capabilities that improve reliability and reduce operational effort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and document software solutions.
  • Build automation solutions supporting infrastructure services and application migration initiatives.
  • Develop API interfaces for infrastructure components and internal systems.
  • Build scalable and reliable self-service capabilities for customers.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Python.
  • Develop user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Participate in CI/CD, Agile, and DevOps practices.
  • Troubleshoot production and non-production issues and serve as an escalation point when needed.
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, security, compliance, and engineering standards.
  • Participate in daily Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of professional Python development experience.
  • 4+ years of Python unit testing experience.
  • 3+ years of React/front-end development experience.
  • 3+ years of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps experience.
  • 2+ years of API development experience.
  • 1+ year of cloud-native application development experience using technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Cloud Foundry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Full-stack development experience across frontend and backend technologies.
  • Experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with SQL databases and database design.
  • Infrastructure, network, or operational automation experience.
  • Familiarity with API management platforms such as Apigee.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Cloud Foundry.
  • Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of networking, load balancing, PKI/certificates, cryptography, or key management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
