Key responsibilities

Job description

Who We Are

Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics is one of Central New York?s leading pediatric and orthodontic practices ? and our mission is simple: make every visit exceptional ? for the patient, for the family, and for the team delivering the care. We move fast, we support each other, and we?re serious about growing the people who grow with us.

The Opportunity

This is an entry-level role ? and it?s a real one. As a Sterilization Technician, you?re the backbone of our infection control and instrument management operation. You?ll work behind the scenes to make sure every operatory is stocked, every instrument is sterile, and every clinician has exactly what they need to deliver great care. It?s detail-oriented work that matters. Dental sterilization isn?t just a support task ? it?s a patient safety function governed by CDC and OSHA standards. You?ll learn those standards, own them, and be trusted to uphold them every single day.

For the right person ? someone who?s organized, reliable, curious, and ready to be part of something bigger ? this role is a launchpad into a career in pediatric dental care.

Why You?ll Want to Work Here

We know you have options. Here?s what makes us worth your time:

Compensation

  • Starting pay of $18+/hr, commensurate with your experience and skills
  • Pay is reviewed regularly and competitively ? we recognize people who show up and bring value

Benefits Package

  • Medical insurance with employer contributions toward your annual premium
  • Vision insurance ? at no cost to you
  • Dental assistance
  • 401(k) with profit sharing ? because your future matters, not just your paycheck

Paid Time Off (Rest Is Non-Negotiable)

  • 6 paid holidays per year
  • Up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year, in compliance with the New York State Paid Sick Leave Law
  • Up to 80 hours of paid vacation in your first year

The Culture

  • Collaborative, team-first environment ? no gatekeeping, no unnecessary hierarchy
  • Brand-new, fully equipped facility with modern sterilization technology and a clean, organized workspace
  • A practice that actively invests in your professional development ? we promote from within and want to watch you grow

What You?ll Do

Your work makes clinical care possible. Day-to-day, you can expect to:

  • Sterilize and reprocess all dental instruments in full compliance with CDC and OSHA infection control guidelines ? you?ll know the protocols and own them
  • Maintain the sterilization area and lab in an organized, regulation-compliant state at all times; assess data and complete required reporting to verify proper infection control standards are met
  • Manage instrument and supply inventory, ensuring that dentists, hygienists, and assistants always have what they need, when they need it ? no delays, no surprises
  • Dispense and collect supplies and equipment efficiently across the practice, and help maintain stock in inventory
  • Perform safety inspections and routine maintenance on sterilization equipment to keep everything running properly
  • Support the broader team with additional tasks as needed ? in a practice this size and pace, everyone chips in
