Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our team! As our Clinical Dietitian, you will coordinate all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education and counseling of hospitalized patients and outpatients in a variety of settings. You will also perform duties in support of and in compliance with performance improvement plans, JCAHO, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. We are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. What you will do in this role:

  • You will demonstrate responsibility and accountability in planning and organizing the nutritional care of patients.
  • You will assess patient nutritional needs, diet restrictions, etc. to develop and implement dietary care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
  • You will develop measurable short and long-term nutritional goals and evaluate to desired outcomes.
  • You will ensure the accurate calculation of nutritional needs based upon individual therapeutic need. 
  • You will ensure documentation in medical record is timely, accurate and in accordance with PCD guidelines.
  • You will monitor and inspect meal service for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance. 
  • You will participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes that will positively affect the overall patient experience.
  • You will contribute to a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care environment OR successful completion of coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the Florida Board of Dietetics and Nutrition; Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Candidates eligible for registration may be hired with the understanding that registration will be achieved within 90 days of hire.
