Works with Principal Investigators to create a personnel effort commitment plan for the fiscal year within research portfolio.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Works with Principal Investigators to create a personnel effort commitment plan for the fiscal year within research portfolio overseen by RBC Pod.
  • Attends regular financial meeting with the Principal Investigator and Post Award RBC. Works with Payroll Accounting to process any changes to personnel effort plan identified by the Principal Investigator and/or Post Award RBC.
  • Ensures adherence to institutional policies and reviews allowability of personnel effort management according to sponsor guidelines to maintain fiscal compliance.
  • Works with the Principal Investigator and Post Award RBC to provide research financial expertise and creative problem solving regarding personnel effort.
  • Maintains a high level of professional knowledge through self-study, research, participation in professional development, and attendance at webinars and conferences.
  • Maintains a detailed effort shadow workbook for all personnel within research portfolio overseen by RBC Pod.
  • Works closely with the RBC Manager, Director of OSP, Grant Accountants, and Sponsored Projects Officers. Active member of their RBC Pod, facilitates meetings as needed to effectively manage the grant portfolio.


Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience, required.


Experience:

  • Experience in the management of grant and contract funding mechanisms (e.g. Federal, foundation, pharma studies, etc.), required.
  • One year of experience in Research Administration, accounting, or equivalent, preferred.
