Job description

Job Summary:
Raytheon is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, dedicated to solving complex problems for national security. The Software Engineer II role involves participating in agile software development teams to create software solutions for aerospace and defense applications, collaborating with various engineering disciplines to ensure the successful integration and testing of systems.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
• Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement and test system
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics or a related (STEM) discipline
• Minimum of two (2) or more years of relevant experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, C#, Java or similar software language
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Preferred:
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills
• Desire and ability to learn new technologies and tools
• Experience working in Agile environment such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, SAFe, Test-Driven Development, DevSecOps
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
• Experience with integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible
• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development pipeline
• Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Linux Operating Systems
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles
