Job description

Data & Product Analyst (Benchmarking), CoStar Debt Solutions
Job Description
Data & Product Analyst (Benchmarking)
Location: Boston, in-office
About the role
CoStar Debt Solutions is building the next generation of CRE analytics software - a platform where data, benchmarking intelligence, and client workflows come together in a single experience to support how lenders originate, evaluate, and manage risk.
A central part of this vision is our Benchmarking product, which enables lenders to compare loan performance, pricing, and risk characteristics against a trusted market dataset. This product is rapidly evolving, with significant investment in expanding coverage, improving methodologies, and delivering more actionable insights directly into client workflows.
We're hiring a Data & Product Analyst to help drive the continued growth of this Benchmarking product - both as a data asset and as a highly client-facing solution.
This role combines data analysis, product development, and direct client engagement, with a strong emphasis on supporting client adoption and enabling the sales process. You will work closely with clients and internal sales teams to demonstrate product value, answer analytical questions, and ensure clients can effectively leverage benchmarking insights in their workflows.
In year one, this role will focus on analyzing benchmark data, supporting product enhancements, and actively participating in client meetings, product demos, and sales support activities. Over time, the role expands into shaping benchmark methodologies, influencing product strategy, and helping scale how benchmarking insights are delivered across the platform.
This is a hybrid role at the intersection of data analysis, product development, and client/sales engagement - ideal for someone who can translate complex datasets into clear insights and communicate them effectively to both internal and external audiences.
What you'll own:
  • The analysis of complex datasets that power the Benchmarking product - identifying trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve data coverage and quality

  • The evolution of benchmark methodologies, outputs, and usability in partnership with Product Managers and cross-functional teams

  • Direct engagement with clients, including leading and supporting client conversations to understand benchmarking use cases, answer analytical questions, and gather actionable feedback

  • Active support of sales and go-to-market efforts, including participating in product demonstrations, responding to client inquiries, and helping articulate the value of benchmarking insights

  • Ongoing client support and enablement, ensuring users can interpret and apply benchmark data effectively in their workflows

  • Collaboration with engineering teams to ensure accurate delivery of benchmark data, calculations, and features

  • Monitoring product usage and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancements

  • Data validation, quality checks, and troubleshooting to maintain the reliability and integrity of benchmark datasets

  • Staying current on industry trends and competitive benchmarking solutions to inform product direction

What we expect you to bring:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in person, university or college. Ideally in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience working with data analytics, financial data, or data-driven products

  • Strong hands-on experience working with large datasets and performing detailed analysis

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical stakeholders and clients

  • Proven ability to support client-facing interactions, including presenting, explaining analytical concepts, and responding to client questions in real time

  • Experience with analytics or benchmarking products, or similar data-driven solutions

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers

Nice to have:
  • Exposure to SQL, Python, or similar languages

  • Experience with benchmarking, peer comparison, or performance analytics solutions

  • Experience supporting client-facing products or working in a customer-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with financial services, lending, or real estate data

  • Experience with data visualization tools

  • Understanding of APIs and data integration concepts

The growth path:
The first year in this role is focused on deeply understanding the benchmark dataset, client needs, and current product capabilities - contributing directly to data analysis, active client engagement, sales support, and incremental product improvements. You will play a key role in client conversations, product demonstrations, and helping drive adoption of benchmarking insights in real-world workflows.
Beyond that, the role expands into a more strategic position:
  • Shaping how benchmark methodologies evolve as the dataset scales

  • Driving enhancements to how insights are surfaced within client workflows

  • Partnering with sales and client teams to improve how benchmarking is positioned, adopted, and delivered

  • Influencing product direction based on client usage patterns, feedback, and market trends

This role is a strong path into broader product ownership, client-facing product strategy, or advanced analytics leadership, particularly for someone interested in building and scaling data-driven products that directly support client outcomes and business growth.
What's unique about this role:
Most data analyst roles focus on generating insights. This role goes further - connecting those insights directly to product decisions and client outcomes.
You'll not only analyze data, but also:
  • Work directly with clients and sales teams to translate insights into adoption and business value

  • Play a key role in client-facing discussions that shape both product direction and commercial success

  • Help bridge the gap between data, product, and revenue-generating activities

What's in it for you?
When you join CoStar Group, you'll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed. We offer you generous compensation and performance-based incentives. CoStar Group also invests in your professional and academic growth with internal training, and tuition reimbursement.

  • Commuter and parking benefits

  • Employee stock purchase plan
  • Paid time off
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • On-site fitness center and/or reimbursed fitness center membership costs (location dependent)
  • Access to CoStar Group's Employee Resource Groups
  • Complimentary gourmet coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fresh fruit, and other healthy snacks

This position offers an annual base salary range of $99,000 - $133,000, based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan
We welcome all qualified candidates who are currently eligible to work full-time in the United States to apply. However, please note that CoStar Group is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
