Raw Material Buyer
General Description:
The Raw Material Buyer will manage all the daily aspects of the Purchasing Department (Raw, Component, Packaging, and MRO). This position is a working position and is the point of contact for daily needs and operations for all lead buyers and supplier quality lead; and reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and follow the Company Safety Programs
  • Recognize and reduce waste to create a more efficient planning system
  • Supervise the Purchasing Agents and Supplier Quality Lead
  • Ensure adequate planning for the purchase and procurement of raw material supplies needed for production
  • Assist with identifying and resolving raw material supplier issues
  • Identify and provide necessary and appropriate training for employees
  • Other duties as required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Five years managerial experience
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Computer literate
Job Location:
Performed in the office and production floor with unrestricted movement. Some travel as required.
Equipment Used:
Computer with appropriate software, general office equipment, and personal protective equipment.
