Material Handler

Non-Exempt, Hourly

Reports to: Planning Manager

High School Education Forklifting and inventory operations experience required

Purpose of Position: Handle and manage all raw materials (material flow from warehouse to production). Fill material orders requested by departments and ensure accurate inventory. It is the Material Handler's responsibility to ensure the stable flow of materials in the supply chain.

Description of Duties:

  • Responsible for completing cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
  • Responsible for rotating stock and adhering to "FIFO" in warehouse area.
  • Transfer material from warehouse to production or saw areas.
  • Use computer and ERP system.
  • Assist in general upkeep and organization of warehouse and office area.
  • Maintain good communication between multiple departments.
  • Report low stock or outages to Material Control Supervisor/Manager.
  • Unloading incoming raw material deliveries.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Clean and pick-up warehouse by the completion of the shift.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing paperwork; ability to complete paperwork per Company defined standards.
  • Follow Company policies, core values, quality and safety procedures, and be detail-oriented.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees and establish strong working relationships with other departments.
  • Work Company assigned hours (regular and predictable attendance).
  • Work requires extended periods of physical activities.
  • Responsible for equipment safety checks.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
