Job description

We are seeking an innovative Engineering Manager to lead AeroCore’s engineering and rapid prototyping efforts. This role drives product development speed, supports released assets, and ensures engineering execution aligns with AeroCore’s commitment to customer outcomes, safety, and continuous innovation. You will oversee engineering personnel, prioritize R amp;D and engineering projects, and strengthen processes that support rapid development and fielded performance.
Role Specifics:
On-Site Engineering Leadership
Monday - Friday - 7:00am to 3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering and prototyping to translate customer, aircraft, and engine requirements into functional designs and prototypes.
  • Manage and develop engineering talent, including workload planning, task assignment, and oversight of R amp;D initiatives.
  • Own engineering documentation, including design releases, inspection requirements, and prototype/tool/fixture testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Create and execute test plans, analyze field data, and report findings to drive design improvements.
  • Protect intellectual property and ensure proper handling of proprietary technologies.
  • Implement and improve rapid prototyping processes, including DOE and other experimental design methodologies.
  • Ensure AS9100 compliance across engineering workflows, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Apply ASME Y14.5 GD amp;T standards for design and inspection.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with onboarding, design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure seamless prototype development. prototypes.
  • Utilize CAD software to create 3D models and generate design files for rapid prototyping.
  • Operate and maintain rapid prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and other additive or subtractive manufacturing technologies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to determine the most suitable rapid prototyping methods for different product designs.
  • Engage in hands-on fabrication using handheld tools, 3D printing, and other rapid prototyping techniques and equipment, ensuring precision and quality in prototype development.
  • Optimize and iterate on prototype designs based on feedback, performance testing, and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to source materials and components for prototyping, and coordinate with company Supply Chain and Quality representatives for supplier onboarding, SCAR’s, etc
  • Availability to travel for this role is estimated to be less than 10%.
Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Materials, or related Engineering field, from an ABET Accredited Engineering program.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • 3 years minimum of CAD design software experience in SolidWorks
  • 7 years of experience working in a fast-paced rapid prototype or agile manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, GMP, R amp;D, and proven design methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding, CNC and traditional machining, 3D Printing, and other fabrication methods
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a collaborative way to focus on solving problems.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and precision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of materials and their properties for both prototype and long-life fielded assets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of product development experience
  • 5 years of fielded asset development, testing, and implementation
  • Experience with Project Management tools and methods
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering and industry, or high-tech manufacturing for product or disruptive technology (non-IT) development
