Summary:

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Range Training Officer (RTO) to support daily operations, mission execution, and training events for the Air Force Weapons School at Nellis AFB. This role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in air traffic control, mission operations, range operations, or similar commandandcontrol environments.

What You Will Do:

Mission Support

  • Help support daily training missions by keeping track of mission flow, timing, and overall safety.
  • Work with instructors, mission crews, and range personnel to keep livefly and simulated events running smoothly.
  • Assist with basic scenario setup and make small adjustments as missions unfold.
  • Maintain general awareness of aircraft and range activity during training events.

Range & Airspace Coordination

  • Coordinate with range control and mission operations to support proper airspace use.
  • Help with communication and basic deconfliction between participating aircraft and range agencies.
  • Monitor mission displays to ensure the team has accurate, uptodate information.

Training Event Support

  • Support instructors during mission briefs and debriefs by sharing timelines, observations, and mission details.
  • Help update and maintain training materials, checklists, and documentation.
  • Assist with the execution of larger training events and exercises when needed.

Operational Support

  • Help coordinate schedules, mission timelines, and required support assets.
  • Follow established safety procedures, range rules, and mission guidelines.
  • Provide simple troubleshooting support for mission systems and displays during operations.
What We're Looking For:
  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience working in fastpaced operational environments requiring strong communication and situational awareness.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple moving parts during dynamic mission events.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and decisionmaking skills.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience supporting training or operations at Nellis AFB, the NTTR, or similar military environments.
  • Experience working in fastpaced mission or range operations settings.
  • Familiarity with mission displays or commandandcontrol systems.
  • Experience supporting large training events or exercises is a plus.
