Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INVESTIGATIVE ANALYST (LE DESK) in the NAVAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE (NCIS).
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

  • You will serve as the NCIS Multiple Threat Alert Center (MTAC) Law Enforcement (LE) Desk GS-14 first-level supervisor of 12-14 Investigative Analysts (1805) ranging in grade from GS-7 to GS-13.
  • You will supervise Investigative Analysts responsible to analyze and evaluate criminal intelligence data; and conduct in-depth research in support of NCIS programs and priorities.
  • You will recommend policy and process improvements and ensure programmatic/operational compliance.
  • You will distribute and balance workloads across employees based upon priorities, requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities to increase effectiveness of operations.
  • You will ensure timely performance of work, review work completed by subordinates, and accept, amend, or reject work as appropriate.
  • You will identify training opportunities, provide or ensure on-the-job training, facilitate formal training, and ensure employee professional development.
  • You will maintain responsibility over the 24/7 NCIS Hotline and Espionage Hotline, ensure all procedures are followed and field after-hours submissions within the NCIS TIPS Program.
  • You will plan and oversee schedules for all subordinates, ensuring continual coverage of MTAC LE Desk, and cover shifts as needed.
  • You will establish work standards, sets priorities, and plan work to be accomplished by all MTAC LE Desk personnel in alignment with DON and NCIS missions.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience leading 24/7 shift personnel in support of law enforcement operations and investigations, crisis management, collaboration with law enforcement partners, and assisting the general public. Leading program development and demonstrated ability to modernize existing programs.
