Job Description for Night Porter:
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for maintain a clean and working environment inside the building to which he/she is assigned.

Duties:
  • Report directly to Account supervisor and business supervisor.
  • Maintains building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; counters, walls; sweeping, sweep and mopping of floors; cleaning and vacuuming.
  • Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; recycling materials.
  • Keeps cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines; completing operator repairs and parts replacement.
  • Maintains parts and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts; anticipating cleaning equipment replacement; placing orders to building supervisor.
  • Maintains safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Keep restrooms clean and restock supplies in restrooms as necessary (if applicable to your position).
  • Clean and prepare kitchen, cafeteria, and/or break rooms (if applicable to your position).
  • Respond to spills and other cleaning emergencies 11. Remove or warn of safety hazards, such as objects in the way of pedestrians or wet floors.
  • Perform all of these duties, and/or additional agreed-upon duties as needed.

  • Must have effective communication skills and be able to speak clearly and correctly.

  • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials.
  • Experience with sanitation products, techniques and methods.
  • Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.
  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in a set environment.
  • Must be able to meet the rigors of the job.
