Job description

SECWORLDWIDE is hiring Event Security Officers (unarmed) on a casual basis for various events in Orlando.

This posting is specifically for July 3rd for an outdoor event in Altamonte Springs.

Tasks:

  • Control of entrances and movement of pedestrian traffic (bag checks, etc.)
  • Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders (duties may vary depending on post orders)
  • Establish working relationships with visitors, local law enforcement and fire departments.
  • Perform job duties with a constant awareness of surroundings, making note of all activity that takes place in the assigned area.
  • Maintain a professional image and always demonstrate excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be on time for duty (5-10 minutes before shift start)
  • Report to post in full uniform (all black attire).
  • Maintain professional image, greeting customers, visitors and employees in a polite and friendly manner and has strong customer service skills.
  • Be proactive in knowing all revisions to post orders and general information distributed by the customer and AFS.
  • Maintain assigned fixed post position, being diligent to report any suspicious activity.
  • A security officer is to be well-disciplined, follows orders and adapts to sometimes chaotic situations (50.000 visitors per event can be challenging).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures and regulations to be able to respond to alarms, incidents and emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen.
  • Minimum 3 months prior experience in the security field
  • Valid State Guard license is required (D only for events).
