Job Description:

L3Harris Interstate Electronics Corporation has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer with experience in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS). The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of the systems engineering process, possess technical knowledge of RAMS theory and analysis, and be comfortable coordinating with crossfunctional team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform RAMS analysis on projects, products, or systems.
  • Review reliability and maintainability analysis documents.
  • Provide necessary RAMS input to help improve product or system.
  • Develop Reliability Block Diagrams and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) predictions.
  • Develop MTTR and Availability predictions.
  • Develop RAMS Plans and Reports.
  • Ensure correct estimations of RAMS activities.
  • Perform Safety Hazard Analysis and Assessment.
  • Develop Safety Assessment Reports that include hazard analysis and mitigations.
  • Evaluate design changes to assess impacts.
  • Perform root cause analysis and other technical investigations.
  • Contribute and present during customer design reviews.
  • Collaborate with the other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure proper coordination of project, product, and system aspects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior experience, or 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience, or a Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior RAMS experience is required.ย 
  • Active US Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with the DOORS requirements management software.
  • Familiarity with the Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical design documentation.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $92,500 - $171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
