Job description

This position coordinates all pre-press activities in support of the multiple printing methods within Sharp Corporation. (Offset Litho, Flexo, Happa, Gottscho, etc.) Working independently manages the Graphics workflow from the customer initiation through final artwork approval. Works with Quality Assurance, Production, Management, Customer Service and external customers to meet their requirements. Evaluates all new artwork files to ensure printability and color reproduction. Modifies files to align with proofing and printing characteristics in conjunction with the required plate output devices. Establish and maintain archive and support files to ensure proper regulatory compliance controls and accurate revision history is accessible.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of responsibilities related to inspection. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Follow all corporate safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the designated Project Managers and Value Stream Specialist to schedule the workflow of artwork, proofing and pre-press activities to meet the agreed upon timelines.
  • Consult with the Print Shop Supervisor to schedule the output of the print mats and print plates for the Conshohocken and Allentown facilities.
  • Follow all Pre-Press process controls and procedures for plate densities, plate thickness, and dot size. Follow specifications on job jackets and ensure all specs are correct.
  • Responsible for checking Work Orders (Print Mat and Printed Foil) for errors ensuring that all item numbers are correct for Conshohocken and Allentown.
  • Ability to compute distortion factors and compression factors.
  • Set up the output of print mats and check print mats for accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of software used in prepress (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Global Vision System, and Microsoft Excel).
  • Working knowledge of Macintosh computers. Working knowledge of XMF Rip System.
  • Monitors maintenance needs and determines scheduling needs for same.
  • Maintain and perform routine maintenance on prepress equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the equipment and being able to produce a high level of quality.
  • Entering time in QAD to the work orders. Ensures that the proofs sent out are accurate by comparing them to printed file proof. Output of final proofs need to be sent to the customer.

Education and/or experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma required. Technical or associate's degree preferred. Minimum five (5) years Rampage experience in lieu of degree.
  • General knowledge of FDA regulations related to Clinical (GCPs) cGMPs.
  • General knowledge of quality control/assurance.
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills
