Job description

The Boat Ramp/Marina Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the operation, appearance and maintenance of the boat ramp launch area.  
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour  

Major Duties/Specific Tasks 

  • Assists with operation of boat ramp by collecting fees and issuing change if necessary, issuing fee receipt tickets, selling merchandise, and maintaining appearance of boat ramp area.
  • Registers and assists boaters at the boat launch area. Ensures all park patrons are parking in the correct area.
  • Manages flow of traffic between different user groups.
  • Coordinates with crew teams during loading and unloading of crew boats and regatta equipment.
  • Assists with public relations by greeting park visitors, handling inquiries, providing information and assistance, and informing patrons of rules and regulations.
  • Assists with appearance of the boat ramp area by maintaining work area, providing general care of equipment and grounds, emptying trash receptacles, picking up ground trash, weeding landscape beds, etc. 
  • Performs routine maintenance as directed.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to Park Management.
  • Carries out additional duties as assigned by Park Management.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Ability to learn the operation of the facility and to obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks.
  • Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift up to 80 lbs, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
  • Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays.
  • Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
