Traveling Railcar Repairman / Carman

Location: Fulton County, Ga
Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour


Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional overtime

This hands-on role is ideal for individuals with railcar repair experience, strong mechanical skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, and repair railcars to customers and AAR standards while supporting safe freight operations. Key duties include:

  •      Inspecting railcars for damage, wear, and serviceability
  •      Performing repairs and documenting inspections and completed work
  •      Identifying repair needs beyond company capabilities
  •      Lubricating components and applying required stenciling
  •      Assisting with railcar cleaning and preparation
  •      Operating company vehicles and equipment, including pickups, ATVs,

Tractors, and service vehicles.

  •      Maintaining a clean work area and following all safety procedures

Qualifications

  •      Railcar repair or rail industry experience preferred
  •      Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  •      Welding experience required (4G, 5G, and Stick Welding)
  •      Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  •      Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks
  •      Valid driver's license required
