SUMMARY: Maintenance Manager takes the lead to ensure the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. In addition, this position is responsible for managing multiple shifts of Maintenance Technicians and mechanics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Planning, directing, and controlling the efforts of the Maintenance Team.
  • Commission validates and initiates new systems and equipment.
  • Assist operation in training operators in the operation of new equipment.
  • Adheres to and promotes all safety guidelines and company standards.
  • Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities, providing feedback and formal reviews.
  • Responding quickly to any emergencies.
  • Run a preventive maintenance program that will minimize service repairs.
  • Operate department on a fixed monthly budget by finding alternative suppliers and parts vendors and control overtime by planning work and scheduling employees.
  • Oversee all purchasing of new parts and maintenance equipment.
  • Coordinate bids and price quotes from outside contractors.
  • Oversee projects for repair and replacement of equipment and plant infrastructure.
  • Oversee all purchasing of new parts and maintenance equipment.
  • Coordinate and maintain plant preventative maintenance program both internal and contracted.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Repairs machinery and equipment using the appropriate methods; welding, replacement of parts, trouble shooting and diagnosing electrical, electronic, control, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and issues.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment; fabricates using steel plate, strapping, and piping.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment, parts and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations; uses pressure wash machines, sweeping, cleaning up debris, arranging work areas, gathering tools, returning and restocking tools in their proper storage area; maintaining hand tools, power tools, welders and portable saws.
  • Responsible for entry and maintenance in confined space and permit space enclosures; follows all Confined Space Restrictions, policies and procedures; wears respirators when required; works in constricted environments.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Documents all repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Experience of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical (high and low voltage), Electronic control systems, Welding, Cutting, Fabrication and General Mechanics.
  • Knowledge of forklift operations.
  • Ability to record data for maintenance records.
  • Ability to work with others in all phases of manufacturing.

WORK AVAILABILITY
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance according to company guidelines.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Employees will be exposed to temperature and humidity variations through the seasons of the year and may, at times, be outdoors for short periods at any time - walking or travelling between buildings or off-site entities.
  • The employee will also perform part of their work in a typical office environment at a workstation with computers and other equipment with normal levels of noise.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $110,000
