Customer Service Representative

Transportation & Logistics

Location: Carlsbad, NM (Onsite)

Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)

Position Summary

Hire Virtue is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading organization supporting the potash mining industry, for an experienced Customer Service Representative to join its Transportation & Logistics team.

This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, internal departments, carriers, and distribution partners, ensuring the timely movement of product while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has experience supporting industrial, rail, trucking, warehousing, or logistics operations and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries, order management, and delivery coordination.
  • Enter, update, and manage customer orders using Microsoft Dynamics CRM and related business systems.
  • Coordinate shipments with rail, trucking, warehouse, and logistics partners to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor order status, inventory availability, and shipment schedules while proactively communicating updates to customers.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Production, Transportation, and Warehouse teams to resolve issues and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, customer reports, and transportation records.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns, shipping discrepancies, and service-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate customer information and documentation within CRM and ERP systems.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience within transportation, logistics, rail, trucking, manufacturing, mining, industrial operations, or supply chain environments.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is required.
  • Experience coordinating rail, trucking, warehousing, or freight operations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of order processing, inventory flow, and logistics coordination.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Potash, mining, industrial manufacturing, or bulk materials industry experience.
  • Experience working with transportation carriers, rail providers, and warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with sales order processing, customer account management, and logistics reporting.
